Cookie and External Services Policy
This statement explains browser storage and external requests associated with browsing the website and using its public forms.
Cookies, browser storage, and external requests
Cookies are small values stored by a browser for a website. Local storage is separate browser storage, while an in-memory event queue disappears when the page session ends. An external request can disclose connection information even when no cookie is set. This statement covers those distinctions for the ArtOfTheHack website.
What the website currently uses
- The website's page and application event queue runs in browser memory. The event code itself does not set an analytics cookie or load an analytics provider.
- The public contact and grant forms use CAP.js, loaded from jsDelivr, and requests to captcha.jamesscott.tech for security verification. The resulting token is held in page memory and sent with the submission.
- Google Fonts supplies the website fonts. The founder page embeds a YouTube player, which can make third-party requests and may use cookies or other storage under Google's policies.
- Hosting and asset-delivery services receive requests needed to serve the site. Their production cookie behavior and log retention have not been comprehensively verified.
No invented cookie inventory
No advertising-cookie deployment or connected analytics provider was identified in the website code reviewed for this statement. This is not a claim that the live website or third-party services are cookie-free. Unused interface code is not evidence of an active preference cookie.
An exact production inventory of cookie names, providers, purposes, categories, lifetimes, and external storage must be confirmed by the owner, including YouTube, CAPTCHA, and hosting behavior. No lifetime or consent exemption is asserted without that verification.
Your browser controls
You can review, block, or delete cookies and site storage in your browser settings, and restrict third-party cookies or embedded content. Blocking scripts, storage, or external requests may prevent fonts, video, or form verification from working. Browser settings are not a substitute for a consent mechanism where applicable law requires one.
The website currently does not provide a cookie-preference panel. Whether an opt-in mechanism is needed for non-essential third-party storage requires a production inventory and jurisdiction-specific legal review. This statement does not grant or assume consent for such storage.
